RHA

This course has been designed to provide the basic information relating to naturally occurring disease in rodents. On successful completion of the course, students will be given a certificate confirming their achievement and their name included in our RHA register, updated annually.

Designed in two parts, the RHA brings together the 'home study' style of learning (Part 1) with the practical 'on-the-job' training (part 2) provided on a 1 to 1 basis. There are no time limits involved and students can work through the course at their own pace and structure their training to fit around other commitments.

Students wishing to complete Part 1 only, will be eligible to receive the RHA student certificate upon successful completion. Students completing both parts will be eligible to receive the RHA Diploma and be able to purchase the RHA badge to signify their achievement.

INTRODUCTION

Anyone wishing to complete the GBAR course (all three parts) must first have completed parts 1 & 2 of the RHA course and associated examinations, unless already registered or qualified with the Royal Society of Veterinary Surgeons or the British Nursing Association. Equal qualifications from overseas students will also be acceptable.

Students can, however, complete GBAR Part 1 without the need for the RHA course having been completed. Enrolement for GBAR parts 2 & 3 will not be possible without having completed the RHA course in its entirety.

GBAR

For those who wish to study beyond the certificate level (RHA), GBAR offers students the opportunity to study for the full BAR membership. Successful students will be granted a Diploma and will have their name included in our GBAR register of Rodentologists, published annually for which a small administration fee is levied. The course involves completing three parts covering, Anatomy, Physiology and Practical Nursing, Breeding, Stock Management and Pharmacology.

Holders of the RHA Diploma can study for all three parts of the GBAR course, whereas, students without the RHA Part 1 and/or Part 2 can study up to successful completion of GBAR Part 1 only.
