Introduction

After more than 30 years studying, diagnosing and treating rodents in general and guinea pigs in particular, Vedra Stanley-Spatcher, the founder of the Cambridge Cavy Trust, has experience in just about every rodent ailment there is. Vedra recognised that the knowledge and experience that she has gained would be invaluable in shedding more light on this highly specialised area of veterinary care.

Thus in 1994, The British Associataion of Rodentologists (BAR) and it's training courses were formed, to complement the training of those caring veterinary professionals who wished to learn

Eligibility..

Minimum age requirement is 16 but no previous qualifications or specific veterinary knowledge is required. Special arrangements can be made for overseas students (please e-mail us for more details.)

BAR membership continues to grow steadily and now has a large membershp not only UK wide but also from other European countries as well as places as far afield as: Japan, Australia and the USA. It is now our aim to more vigorously pursue and promote the provision of our courses and to provide even more backup and assistance to our students than was ever previously possible

Paul & Rosemary Loveday from Woodbridge in Suffolk, joined Vedra as associates in 2009. Paul & Rosemary have known Vedra since 1996 and through the amazing work carried out by Vedra have been inspired to contribute to the long-term future of the BAR.
